How to add auto zoom to a screen recording
Flat captures hide the UI. Auto zoom makes the click target fill the frame. This is the VidLaya workflow: upload, point, export.
Step 1 — Highlight
Click the Highlight tool on the left toolbar.
| Feature | Manual timeline zoom | VidLaya |
|---|---|---|
| How zoom is created | Scale/position keyframes on a timeline | Point at the UI region; the editor animates the move |
| Skill | Video editing | None beyond knowing which control matters |
| Where you work | Desktop NLE (Premiere, Camtasia, …) | Browser |
| Best when | You need frame-level control | You need a product demo out today |
1. Get a clean recording
One display, readable font scaling, no leftover notifications. Loom, QuickTime, or Game Bar are all fine. See how to make a product demo video for the rest of the pipeline.
2. Upload and mark zoom regions
Open VidLaya, drop the file, and point at each beat of the demo. The auto zoom follows those regions. You are not drawing bezier keyframes.
3. Highlight and blur on the same pass
Spotlight the click. Blur tokens. A zoomed-in API key is worse than a tiny one. Then export MP4.
4. Use it on the page that needs it
Landing demo, SaaS onboarding video, or Product Hunt launch video. If you were about to buy a Mac-only zoom app instead, read VidLaya vs Screen Studio.
