Screen Studio alternative that runs in the browser

VidLaya gives you automatic zooms, highlights, and blurs with no install and no OS lock-in. Screen Studio still has the edge on native Mac polish — that is a real difference, not a slogan.

1. Record on whatever OS you already use

Capture with the built-in recorder on the machine in front of you. You are not blocked because the demo editor only ships for Mac.

2. Open VidLaya in the browser

No download, no GPU-heavy desktop editor. Upload the file and edit from the same Chrome or Safari window you use for everything else.

3. Apply automatic zooms on the UI

Point at the feature you are showing. VidLaya handles the pan and zoom. Screen Studio's native motion will still look different — if that native look is the requirement, stay on Screen Studio.

4. Highlight, blur, export

Spotlight the click target, blur secrets, export MP4. Related: Loom alternative, VidLaya vs Camtasia, how to make a product demo video.

Frequently asked questions

Is VidLaya a Screen Studio alternative?

Yes, if you need automatic zooms on a product demo and you cannot (or do not want to) use a Mac-only desktop app. No, if native Mac motion polish is the whole point of the purchase.

Does VidLaya work on Windows and Linux?

VidLaya runs in the browser. Anyone on the team with a modern browser can upload a recording and edit it. You do not install an editor per machine.

Can I upload a recording I already have?

Yes. VidLaya is built around an existing MP4, WebM, or MOV file — including captures from QuickTime, Game Bar, or another recorder.

Should Mac-only teams still look at Screen Studio?

If the whole team is on Mac and you want a native app whose motion design is the product, Screen Studio is a fair default. VidLaya is the path when OS mix or 'no install' matters more.
