How to create a professional SaaS product demo

A practical workflow for founders and marketers who need a polished demo without becoming video editors.

Step 1 — Highlight

Click the Highlight tool on the left toolbar.

1. Decide the one job of the demo

Landing-page demos prove the core loop. Sales clips answer a specific objection. Onboarding videos teach a first win. Pick one job so you do not try to show the whole product in two minutes.

2. Record a clean pass

Use QuickTime, Game Bar, or Loom. Hide notifications, bump UI scaling if text is tiny, and talk (or pause) at a pace viewers can follow. Do not polish inside the recorder.

3. Guide attention, then protect privacy

Upload to VidLaya. Zoom the UI you are explaining, highlight the click target, and blur emails or tokens. Details: zoom, highlight, and blur.

4. Export and place it where it converts

Export MP4 and put it on the page that needs proof. For a tool-focused overview see the product demo video maker; for SaaS-specific positioning see SaaS product demos.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a SaaS product demo be?

Aim for the shortest clip that proves the value. Many landing-page demos work at 30–90 seconds; onboarding walkthroughs can run longer as long as each step earns its place.

Do I need a designer or agency?

Not for a standard product demo. Record the flow, polish with zoom/highlight/blur in the browser, and export. Hire specialists when you need custom motion graphics or live-action.

Where should the finished demo go?

Homepage hero, pricing page, sales emails, changelog posts, and Product Hunt launches are common. Match length and framing to the channel.
